Delchevo, 5 January 2023 (MIA) – In the new year, the country should focus on the reforms necessary to join the EU, a goal that requires unity of politicians from the entire political spectrum and society, EU Ambassador David Geer told reporters on Thursday during his working visit to Delchevo.

“The main message is about reforms, carrying out the reforms that are necessary to bring the country into the European Union, and these reforms are, first and foremost, in the interest of the citizens. They cover a huge range of issues, which citizens are concerned about, from rule of law, anti-corruption, through to helping to build up living standards and the economy of the country. It is a work to be led by the government, but it is also something which means to bring everyone together from across the political groups and from all parts of society in order together reach the common goal of this country – democratic, peaceful and prosperous within the European Union,” EU Ambassador Geer said answering journalist’s question which should be the focus of the government in the new year in terms of the European integration.
