Skopje, 13 December 2023 (MIA) — EU Ambassador David Geer received the national Media Information Agency director Dragan Antonovski on Wednesday to discuss potential ways of intensifying cooperation between the EU Delegation and MIA.

At the meeting, it was said that the EU delegation, fully supporting media freedom and freedom of speech, values MIA as a relevant source of fast and accurate news.  

Geer and Antonovski discussed the reforms the news agency had implemented over the past years. They also talked about the expert recommendations for the government on adopting legislation related to MIA, which had been reached during an OSCE-supported roundtable discussion.

In addition, meeting participants considered possibilities of laying the foundations for MIA's greater sustainability and financial stability. mr/
