GDP up 2.3 percent in Q2 of 2024: statistics

Skopje, 4 September 2024 (MIA) - The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 2.3 percent in the second quarter (Q4) of 2024, said the State Statistical Office on Wednesday.

In Q2 of 2024, bigger increase was recorded in sections: R, S and T- Arts, entertainment and recreation; Other service activities; Activities of households as employers; undifferentiated goods- and services-producing activities of households for own use by 9.5 % and M and N-Professional, scientific and technical activities; Administrative and support service activities by 8.7 %.

According to the State Statistical Office, Household final consumption, including Non-profit institutions serving households, increased by 4.7% in nominal terms, and its share in the GDP structure was 74.5%.

In the same period, Export of goods and services decreased by 3.4% in nominal terms, while import of goods and services decreased by 5.2%.

Gross capital formation in Q2 of 2024 registered the increase in gross fixed capital formation and decrease in changes in inventories.

The GDP in Q1 was at 1.2 percent, and with the Budget revision it is planned at 2.1 percent.
