Skopje, 19 September 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Thursday with newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria Zhelyazko Radukov, wishing him successful and fruitful tenure. 

In terms of parliamentary cooperation, continuation and dynamization is expected through parliamentary committees and parliamentary groups, as well as at a higher level, with mutual visits, the Parliament said in a press release.

"A form of understanding needs to be found, of dialogue to build good neighbourly relations, because the past cannot be changed, but the future can, and this will be achieved with positive will and good intentions. Membership in the EU will be good not only for our country, but also for Bulgaria and the entire region," reads the press release. 

The meeting itself, it adds, sends messages for deepening cooperation, readiness for open talks and bringing people closer together.

"In this context, infrastructural connection is important, and placing focus on Corridor 8, which is of strategic interest," the press release reads.

Speaker Gashi wished successful and peaceful upcoming elections in Bulgaria, which, adds the press release, will bring a stable government that will work on building mutual relations.
