Skopje, 24 October 2024 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi on the sidelines of the 3rd parliamentary summit of the International Crimea Platform met yesterday with his Ukrainian counterpart, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.

North Macedonia’s Parliament for the third time is represented at the highest level at the parliamentary summits of the International Crimea Platform, which is a clear indicator of our commitment to this forum and to our strong support for Ukraine at every level, said Gashi as cited by the assembly’s press office.

Cooperation between the Parliament of North Macedonia and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine both at bilateral and multilateral plan as part of the international parliamentary assemblies has been marking a progress over the years, said the press release.

“Gashi emphasized the unwavering and resolute support and solidarity for Ukraine, the Ukrainian institutions and the Ukrainian people in the brutal, unjustified and unprovoked military aggression by Russia against Ukraine and in the fight against the aggressor, which is at the same time a fight for democratic values and protection of the international order,” said the press release.

The third parliamentary summit of the International Crimea Platform is taking part in Latvia’s capital Riga on October 23-24. Speaker Gashi, chairman of the interparty parliamentary group for support of the International Crimea Platform, is expected to address the summit.
