Gashi – Kurti: North Macedonia and Kosovo share vision for stable Western Balkans

Skopje, 25 November 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Monday with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, as part of his official visit to Kosovo.
In a press release, Parliament said Gashi reaffirmed the country’s positive opinion regarding Kosovo’s accession to all multilateral and regional organizations, noting that North Macedonia will continue to provide its support in the future as well.
Speaker Gashi expressed Parliament’s readiness to share experiences regarding the legislative process and the supervision over the executive branch in the context of reforms, both on the path to the European Union and NATO membership.
Gashi stressed that the future of the Western Balkans lies in the European Union and NATO, noting that through joint efforts, the countries will be able to overcome the challenges and ensure prosperity and stability for their citizens.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, said that the meeting, which comes after the second joint government session between the two countries, is an indicator that the relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Kosovo are gaining momentum, stressing that economic progress, business cooperation and convergence with European standards are the basis for the cooperation between the two countries.
“The Republic of Kosovo sees an ally, friend and advocate in the Republic of North Macedonia, which is why, as Prime Minister, I constantly support the communication and deepening of cooperation both on a parliamentary level and in all other areas of interest to the region,” Kurti stressed.
