Sofia, 16 June 2022 (MIA) - The French proposal on European guarantees in meeting the Bulgarian conditions required from North Macedonia is a success for Bulgaria. Rejecting this would be a missed opportunity for a good agreement, Hristo Ivanov, leader of the Democratic Bulgaria party, told BNR, MIA reports from Sofia. Ivanov said the most important parameter of this agreement is that the European Commission would be obligated to monitor North Macedonia, the country would have to incorporate Bulgarians in the constitution alongside other peoples as founders of the republic. “If this fails to materialize, there will be no negotiations on the first chapter. This is a success for the Bulgarian diplomacy and not a national betrayal,”, said Ivanov.
