France's Macron congratulates Siljanovska Davkova on election win: A new page being opened

Skopje, 10 May 2024 (MIA) – French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated Gordana Siljanovska Davkova on winning the presidential elections in North Macedonia.
“Our Macedonian friends are seeing a new page being opened. I welcome the brave commitment of Stevo Pendarovski and I sincerely congratulate Gordana Siljanovska Davkova on her election as president,” Macron wrote in a Facebook post.
France, he added, remains on North Macedonia’s side to assist it in reform implementation and support its European future.
Siljanovska Davkova thanked her French counterpart also in a Facebook post.
“President Macron, thank you for the congratulations! Being one of the founding countries of the EU, France has a key role and responsibility for the European project to succeed. Your support, I hope, will pave the way of Macedonia towards Europe. I vow I will build a consensus for reforms that will allow the Macedonian citizens to live like Europeans,” she said.
In the Facebook post, the President-elect concluded that during her term she will make efforts to strengthen the bilateral ties, especially the relations in business, culture and science.
