Four Macedonian citizens evacuated from Sudan

Skopje, 30 April 2023 (MIA) - Four citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia were evacuated on Saturday from citizens from conflict-hit Sudan. The evacuation was carried out with the assistance of authorities of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Sunday.

The evacuated Macedonian citizens are currently in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The Macedonian embassy in Abu Dhabi is in contact with the Saudi authorities regarding their return to the country.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs carefully monitors the development of the situation in Sudan and is in communication with countries that have their own diplomatic consular representations in the country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that a total of 4,879 people have been evacuated from Sudan, of which 139 are Saudis, and the rest are from 96 countries around the world.
