Skopje, 28 February 2026 (MIA) – Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade is urging all Macedonian nations currently in the State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to closely follow official information and abide by the instructions of the competent institutions of the hosting countries.

The Foreign Ministry is reminding all Macedonian nationals they can contact the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Doha (tel: +974 50 173 111 and email: doha@mfa.gov.mk), the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Abu Dhabi (tel: +971 56 441 7532 and email: abudabi@mfa.gov.mk) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (tel: +389 75 273 732 / +389 75 268 736 and email: globalsos@mfa.gov.mk).

Amid news of the security situation in Israel worsening, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade is urging the Macedonian nationals who are currently there to follow all official national emergency portals and abide by the instructions of the national institutions.

‘Also, we call on all our nationals to refrain from traveling in the countries in this region until security there is stabilized. According to information from the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Tel Aviv, Israel’s airspace has been closed for civilian flights until further notice. All commercial entry and exit flights have been suspended and there is no announcement yet as to when regular air traffic will be reopened,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a Facebook post Saturday.
