Foreign Ministry and Tel Aviv Embassy urge Macedonian nationals to follow instructions and contact them amid Iran attacks

Skopje, 28 February 2026 (MIA) – Amid news of the security situation in Israel worsening, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade is urging the Macedonian nationals who are currently there to follow all official national emergency portals and abide by the instructions of the national institutions.

‘Also, we call on all our nationals to refrain from traveling in the countries in this region until security there is stabilized. According to information from the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Tel Aviv, Israel’s airspace has been closed for civilian flights until further notice. All commercial entry and exit flights have been suspended and there is no announcement yet as to when regular air traffic will be reopened,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a Facebook post Saturday.

The Ministry is informing all Macedonian nationals they can dial the numbers below in case of need:

“The Ministry via the diplomatic office in Tel Aviv has been monitoring the situation and will be informing the public timely on any new developments,” it says. 

Amid the tense security situation in Israel and the region, the Embassy of North Macedonia to Israel in a post on Facebook on Saturday urges all Macedonian citizens who are currently in Israel to follow instructions of the IDF Home Front Command.

“Citizens are advised to either stay in or near a protected area (shelter, safe room or other designated protected zone); to make sure they know the nearest protected area; to make sure essential supplies are readily available, including water, food, medicine, a first aid kit, a flashlight, and charged cell phones; to follow official updates and notifications in real time via https://www.oref.org.il/eng, the mobile app and local media. To go to protected areas right after receiving notification and staying there until further notice saying it’s safe to leave them. To those who plan on traveling to or leaving Israel, all flights have been cancelled until further notice. We advise that you should follow updates by airlines and the competent agencies,” the Embassy says.
