FM Osmani signs agriculture cooperation memo in Jordan
Skopje, 25 October 2022 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and Jordan’s Minister of Agriculture Khalid Al- Hanifat have signed a cooperation memorandum in the field of agriculture, the first-ever international agreement between the governments of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. “The document sets up the foundation for intensive exchange of food and agriculture products, primarily the export of fruit, vegetables and lamb meat to Jordan, and imports of olive oil and dates from the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release. “This is exceptionally important for both countries amid the current challenges related to food security and the need to diversify the supply of food products. On the other hand, we have a potential that requires new markets and this is another step to enhancing bilateral ties for the benefit of countries’ citizens,” said FM Osmani. Interlocutors highlighted the significance of experience exchange in the field of agriculture policies, implementation of specific measures for improvement of agriculture production, food safety and water management, expressing commitment for joint projects in the future, reads the press release.
