FM Osmani meets with US Secretary Blinken in Prague 

Skopje, 31 May 2024 (MIA) - Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met Friday with the United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, on the sidelines of the informal NATO meeting in Prague, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

At the meeting, Osmani and Blinken discussed current developments in North Macedonia, with Foreign Minister Osmani highlighting the continuation of the country’s Euro-Atlantic path as crucial for stability.

“The Euro-integration process, the commitment to a functional multiethnic democracy and respect for the three agreements are necessary to maintain the stability of the country and the region,” the Foreign Ministry’s press release said.

Osmani voiced gratitude over the continued US support for the country’s reform processes, the fight against corruption and the democratic development of North Macedonia. He emphasized the country’s commitment to the implementation of activities stemming from the North Macedonia – US Strategic Dialogue, which Osmani and Blinken jointly launched in Washington in June 2022.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Osmani and Blinken also discussed the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, noting that as strategic partners and NATO allies the two countries stand united in their support for the Ukrainian people.
