Skopje, 13 June 2024 (MIA) - Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met with his Bosnian counterpart Elmedin Konaković as part of Thursday's meeting of South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) foreign ministers in Skopje, discussing bilateral cooperation and readiness to improve regional cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Interlocutors welcomed the consensus over the election of a new Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Secretary General, Amer Kapetanovic, which is a significant success for North Macedonia's SEECP Chairmanship, reads the press release.
"Talks focused on bilateral cooperation, readiness to improve regional cooperation to deal with challenges of regional security, and Western Balkans' European integration, which is of crucial importance for the stability and prosperity of the countries in the region. The Ministers also discussed the adoption of the Srebrenica genocide resolution by the UN General Assembly, designating 11 July as the 'International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica.' Osmani noted that the Republic of North Macedonia decided to not only support, but also co-sponsor the resolution, because condemning genocide is a universal human responsibility, and not dependent on any affiliation," the press release adds. ssh/nn/
