FM Mucunski to meet MEPs and attend NATO meeting in Brussels

Skopje, 2 December 2024 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski on December 2-4 will be paying a working visit to Brussels for meetings with MEPs and to attend a regular meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
Mucunski is scheduled to address members of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee and to meet with the EP rapporteur for North Macedonia, Thomas Waitz, and shadow rapporteurs, Matej Tonin (Slovenia, EPP) and Thijs Reuten (the Netherlands, SiD), the Ministry said Monday.
Talks will focus on the need to accelerate the country’s EU integration process with an accent on reform implementation and our commitment to meeting the membership criteria, said the press release.
FM Mucunski will also take part in the meeting of NATO foreign ministers, to take place December 3-4 at the NATO HQ in Brussels.
The NATO ministers are expected to address several key issues related to current security challenges with a focus on the southern neighbourhood of the Alliance, current developments in Ukraine and the security challenges facing the European continent as a result of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine affecting the Euro-Atlantic security, as well as the status of implementation of decisions passed at the Washington NATO summit amid preparations for the summit next year, set to be held in the Hague, the Netherlands.
On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Minister Mucunski is expected to hold several bilateral meetings with his counterparts, added the press release.
