Skopje, 3 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Timcho Mucunski met Wednesday with Romanian Ambassador Adela Monica Axinte and reaffirmed the traditional and friendly relations between the two countries that are set to improve and strengthen in the future with a focus on economic cooperation.

"The meeting highlighted the dynamics of bilateral cooperation, starting with political dialogue, inter-sectorial cooperation, and joint efforts in regional initiatives. The topic of discussion was the integration of Western Balkan countries in EU, during which interlocutors agreed that further EU expansion is not only an incentive for countries in the region, but is of interest to all member-countries," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

FM Mucunski thanked the Ambassador Axinte for Romania's ongoing and unreserved support on our path to EU, and its willingness to offer assistance in concrete areas of interest.

Interlocutors also discussed the countries' partnership within NATO and the need to strengthen cooperation in the context of security challenges, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
