FM Mucunski meets ambassadors of Croatia and Hungary

Skopje, 1 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Timcho Mucunski and Croatian Ambassador Nives Tiganj at a Monday meeting reaffirmed traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, set to further deepen in the future with a special focus on economic cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.   

Talks focused on Western Balkans' EU integration, with interlocutors agreeing that the enlargement of the Union will be an incentive not only for the countries in the region, but vital interest for member states.  

Minister Mucunski expressed gratitude for Croatia's continued and unwavering support for the country's membership in the European Union. In addition, participants in the meeting highlighted the need to work together and intensively towards speeding up the country's European integration process. 

FM Mucunski also met Monday with Hungarian Ambassador András Klein, extending congratulations on the start of Hungary's six-month EU presidency. 

"Mucunski expressed satisfaction that EU enlargement with the Western Balkans is among the presidency's priorities. Interlocutors expressed mutual expectation for the country's progress on the European integration path during the Hungarian presidency, as well as commitment to cooperation between the two countries," the Foreign Ministry said in a press release. 

Interlocutors also discussed cooperation within NATO, highlighting mutual contribution to preserving overall transatlantic stability. The two exchanged views on regional developments, as well as current foreign-policy topics.
