FM Mucunski has phone calls with counterparts offering help in tackling wildfires

Skopje, 16 July 2024 (MIA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski spoke on the phone Tuesday with Austria's Federal Minister for European and International Affairs Alexander Schallenberg; Greece's Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis; Romania's Minister of Foreign Affairs Luminiţa Odobescu; Slovenia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon; and Croatia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić-Radman.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade in a press release, the active wildfires in the country were the focus of the talks, with Mucunski's counterparts offering help to the country to overcome them. Some of this assistance is part of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
"We highly appreciate the readiness of our friends from Austria, Greece, Romania, Slovenia, and Croatia to support us in tackling the active wildfires," Mucunski said, adding that solidarity was essential in overcoming such challenges and expressing his thanks for the help and the long-standing friendship between the countries. mr/
