Skopje, 4 January 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski has welcomed the United States operation for the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

In a post on X, FM Mucunski welcomed the announcement of U.S. President Donald Trump that Nicolás Maduro has been arrested and will face justice.

"Accountability matters. We stand with the United States and the Venezuelan people for freedom and democracy," says Mucunski.

He also commends US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for his leadership "in confronting the Maduro regime’s narco-criminal networks."
