Flu vaccination starts at national public health centers

Skopje, 21 October 2024 (MIA) – Starting Monday, free flu vaccines will be administered in 36 locations nationwide. So far, over 32,000 citizens are registered to receive the flu vaccine.

In Skopje, flu vaccines will be administered in five public health institutions, including the Public Health Center, the Bukurest, Idadija and Bit Pazar polyclinics and the Institute for Public Health, where only health workers will be vaccinated against the flu.

Those who have registered for flu shots at the site, said the Health Ministry, will receive SMS containing the date, time and location where they can get the flu vaccine.

“The Health Ministry this year procured 70,000 doses of quadrivalent seasonal flu vaccine, an increase compared to previous years. People considered at risk should get the vaccine, including people over 65, people with chronic illnesses, health workers, pregnant women, children over 6 months up to 5 years of age, people residing in nursing homes and nursing home staff members,” the Health Ministry said.

Commercial flu vaccines are also available in the public health centers for people who are not considered at risk.
