Flight training at Krivolak with U.S. army aircrafts
Skopje, 27 July 2022 (MIA) - Flight training activities with army aircrafts of the U.S. Armed Forces take place Wednesday and Thursday at the Krivolak army training ground as part of joint activities of North Macedonia's Army and the U.S. Armed Forces in coordination with land and air forces. Two F-18s of the United States Navy will conduct a flyover to check and simulate capabilities for providing close air support and joint air control through the navigation guidance system for land targets from the air, the Defense Ministry said. This kind of activities for the first time were conducted at the Neptune Strike exercise, taking place from January 24 until February 5 in the Mediterranean region. "As NATO member country that is fully included in the air patrolling system, we reaffirm our capability to take part in such exercise activities with NATO armies, interoperability and capability to integrate into the defense air system all the while showcasing the opportunities offered by the Krivolak training ground," said the press release. The activity is held according to a government decision approving the arrival and stay of foreign armed forces in North Macedonia to take part in a close air support training with aircrafts of the U.S. Armed Forces at Krivolak.
