First Contemporary Music Festival to be held in Shtip

Shtip, 5 June 2023 (MIA) — Organized by Goce Delchev University's Music Academy, the first Contemporary Music Festival will take place at the Bezisten art gallery in Shtip at 7 pm.

According to organizers, Shtip's Contemporary Music Festival aims to promote talented young artists from the country and abroad. Performers include current and future students as well as already established artists.

"The Shtip audience will have the chance to listen to quality concerts and get to know contemporary music better," organizers say, adding that the festival also aims to put Shtip on the world's contemporary concert scene map.

The festival will open with a performance by Trio Akademiko (Zlatka Miteva on flute, Branko Pavlovski on clarinet, and Natasha Trbojevikj on piano). They will perform works by Eric Ewazen, Ernesto Cavallini, Franz Schmidt, Camille Saint-Saëns, and Jakub Jakub Jankowski.

Music Academy students will perform on the festival's second night. mr/
