Skopje, 17 August 2022 (MIA) - The budget is well positioned to withstand the crisis. We're prepared to address every challenge on time. The crisis is serious and it might last given what is happening in Ukraine and global developments. This suggests we have to prepare ourselves for a marathon, Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi tells MIA in interview. Targeted anti-crisis measures are being prepared, he says without detailing when they would be introduced. Besimi stresses that the last quarter of 2022 and the following quarter in 2023 would be vital. "I believe we are taking all the necessary steps not only from the aspect of measures, but also from the point of view of energy saving," Besimi tells MIA. The Minister notes that it will be a hard winter and it will be key to secure sufficient quantities of electricity and food to overcome the coming period and to lay stable foundations for growth as of next year.
