Financial Police Office: Ruskovska’s claims about requested cases are false
Skopje, 19 August 2022 (MIA) – The statement made by prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska claiming she requested 300 cases from the Financial Police Office but only received around 30 cases which she did not even request is false, said the Office in a press release.
With a search warrant and a data request by the Financial Police Office, all anonymous reports submitted to the Office from 2018 until the day of the search, have been requested.
“The data request gave us a deadline of 10 days, and it began to run from July 18, 2022. Seven days after the search and the request, on July 25, when the Office issued a press release informing about the search and submitting complaints due to suspicions of abuse by prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska, at 2pm, the Office was notified to immediately hand over the cases which had been collected until then. The Financial Police Office at that moment had secured 35 cases based on ‘anonymous reports submitted to the Office from 2018 until the day of the request’ and those cases were immediately handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption,” said the Financial Police, pointing out that in the meantime an additional 150 cases have been secured and the Prosecutor's Office has been notified of this.
In the press release, the Financial Police Office stated they have requested that the Public Prosecutor’s Office notify them which prosecutor is in charge of the case, keeping in mind that the Prosecutor’s Office determined the incompetency of Vilma Ruskovska, Ivana Trajcheva and Elizabeta Josifovska to act on the specific case. The Financial Police said it is awaiting the Public Prosecutor’s response in order to be able to hand over the requested data and cases. ad/nn/
