Financial Police files criminal complaint to Skopje Public Prosecutor's Office
Skopje, 8 August 2022 (MIA) - The Financial Police Office filed Monday a criminal complaint to the Skopje Public Prosecutor's Office, which covers all prosecutors the Financial Police believes are suspected of committing crimes while taking actions as part of a case during which a search was ordered in the institution. The Financial Police Office does not specify how many people are included in the complaint. "Since the procedure involving all reported persons as of now is confidential respecting the presumption of innocence, this is all we can share with the public at this point according to the law on criminal procedure," the Financial Police Office says in a press statement. At a press briefing last week, Financial Police Director Arafat Muaremi announced he would file criminal complaints against the prosecutors Vilma Ruskovska, Ivana Trajcheva and Elizabeta Josifovska for "abuse of power" and "falsifying of official document." The Prosecution for Organized Crime and Corruption on July 18 searched the offices of the Financial Police Office. It resulted in a public exchange of letters and accusations between the Head of the Prosecution for Organized Crime and Corruption, Vilma Ruskovska, and Financial Police Director Arafat Muaremi.
