Skopje, 27 November 2023 (MIA) - The Ministry of Finance issued Monday the 22nd issue of the denationalization bond, totalling EUR 4.5 million, which covers all denationalization decisions active from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, given as form of compensation, the Ministry of Finance said in a press release.
Denationalization bonds are securities that are denominated in euros, and are unlimitedly transferable. The nominal value of one bond, according to the Finance Ministry, is EUR 1 with annual interest of two percent.
"The nominal value and interest rate of bondholders is paid over a 10-year period. That payment is done once a year, in ten equal instalments, and for this issue the payment will start from June 1, 2024. Citizens may use the denationalization bonds to pay off state-owned property. Denationalization bonds will be traded on the Macedonian Stock Exchange AD Skopje," the press release reads.
Starting from 2002, according to the Law on Denationalization, the State annually issues denationalization bonds, while the government determines their amount.
So far, twenty-one issues of denationalization bonds, amounting to EUR 391.2 million, have been issued. ssh/nn/
