Skopje, 12 July 2024 (MIA) - Justice Minister Igor Filkov met Friday with French Ambassador Cyrille Baumgartner, discussing cooperation between North Macedonia and France in the judiciary, reform agenda, projects, and other priorities of the Ministry of Justice included in the 2024-2028 Judicial Sector Development Strategy.

Ambassador Baumgartner highlighted the minister’s reform plans and expressed France's preparedness to provide assistance and expertise in all these processes, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release.

Particularly significant is the cooperation with the liaison judge in Belgrade and the internal security attaché in Skopje, who help in the implementation of the reforms.

A French expert who will provide assistance with the EU integration process is expected to arrive in September and work for two years at the Ministry of Justice. Filkov and Baumgartner assured to further strengthen bilateral ties and intensify the cooperation of mutual interest, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
