Skopje, 1 July 2024 (MIA) - Justice Minister Igor Filkov met Monday with U.S. Ambassador to the country, Angela Aggeler, discussing implementation of reform commitments, strengthening fight against crime and corruption, the situation in the judiciary, prisons, as well as ensuring conditions for the smooth implementation of the planned activities, the Ministry of Justice said in a press release. 

Ambassador Aggeler wished success to Minister Filkov, expressing expectation for the implementation of the reform legislative agenda.

Justice Minister Igor Filkov said changes must be delivered quickly because citizens demand results. 

"The United States is our biggest strategic partner and a strong ally for our country's progress towards full-fledged membership in the European Union," reads the press release. 

Interlocutors reaffirmed commitment to further developing bilateral relations, as well as continuing cooperation.
