Probishtip, 30 September 2025 (MIA) - We are sending a clear message that we have to defend our home, defend Macedonia as the house of all people, not the private ownership of a few in power, SDSM leader Venko Filipche told a rally in Probishtip on Tuesday.

"Let's build a society where young people will stay rather than leave, let's create a Macedonia in which hard work is valued, not the party membership card. This battle is not only a political one, but one of justice, dignity and for our future. SDSM has always been more than a party, it is a movement for freedom, justice and equality. Our roots lie in the generations who embedded the fundamental value of the state being the home of every citizen," said Filipche.

He added that the current task is to put the party back on track, restore hope and show that SDSM can bring the state back to its feet.

"You are our engine, your energy will bring hope back to the disappointed ones and those who went silent," said Filipche.

He added that incumbent Probishtip Mayor Dragan Anastasov would win in the first round, because he has transformed the town into an decent place to live.

"Since 2017, Dragan has led the town by being sincere, hardworking, open, professional, but first and foremost - a good man," said Filipche.

Anastasov said the two terms as Probishtip Mayor did not change him but taught him to be persistent.

"This job taught me that we all share the same problems and challenges in the municipality, regardless of our background and affiliation. That is why we focused on the citizens, we invested a lot in the social aspect, implementing series of measures and projects aimed at making the daily life of our vulnerable citizens easier, we have invested in education, child protection, infrastructure, sport, youth and culture," said Anastasov.
