Filipche calls on Mickoski to share with competent institutions any information about possible destabilization, DUI says it is a guarantor of peace

Skopje, 5 August 2024 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche has called on Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski to immediately share with competent institutions if he has any information about possible destabilization or disruption of the peace in the country.

"Otherwise, he becomes an accomplice or a political factor who may have an interest in such a situation. The information about destabilization that the Prime Minister speaks about for two days in a row causes unrest among the citizens, and it is his personal responsibility to prevent such a situation. If he does not share the information himself, I call on the investigative authorities to initiate proceedings and investigate these allegations. As the leader of SDSM, which is a responsible party, I always oppose any form of destabilization. Also, manipulation with citizens' feelings and causing a state of tension must not be allowed, without specific action by the state," Filipche posted on Facebook.

The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) also reacted in a press release, saying that as a state-building party, it is a guarantor of peace, stability, well-being and the country's European future.

"Without commenting on political spins and bluffs, we want to clarify that we have a mandate and responsibility from the Albanian voters to protect the legitimacy, political will and dignity of the vote and the Albanian people in North Macedonia. We will take all democratic measures and means to prevent the humiliation and majorization of Albanians through the imposition of vassals. As for the baseless accusations of violation of the law, we once again call on the political parties to check all public office holders with international assistance. Only in this way will the bluffing, witch-hunting and abuse of the fight against corruption for political purposes stop. Invite the international community to immediately send experts to fully inspect each of us and each of you, including an investigation of the privatization process!".

We have information at our disposal, obtained from several channels, that the leadership of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), in an attempt to protect the capital gained in the past 20-22 years, will take steps towards destabilizing the country, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski at a joint press conference with Kosovo counterpart, Albin Kurti, on Monday.

In response to a reporter's question regarding Mickoski's views expressed over the weekend that DUI is threatening the country's interethnic image and poses a threat to Macedonia's peace and stability as a country, the PM said he expects it to happen during the fall, but still, he added, time will tell whether the information he has is correct or not.
