Skopje, 19 December 2024 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance Arben Fetai addressed Thursday the presentation of the first manual on integrating anti-corruption measures into the chapters and clusters of the EU accession negotiations.
The project, which is supported by the Government of Sweden and implemented by UNOPS, is an important step in the progress of the reform agenda, the Deputy PM's Office said in a press release.
Fetai noted that the fight against corruption is a top strategic priority for the Government with focus on strengthening mechanisms for preventing and managing corruption on all levels.
The Government's aim with this manual is to strengthen institutional capacities to identify and deal with corruption risks, create a model of a corruption monitoring center based on the best practices of EU member states, build a unified government approach and standardized measures that will strengthen transparency, integrity, and accountability.
The steps are crucial in bringing North Macedonia closer to EU standards and restoring citizens' trust in state institutions, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
