Exports up slightly in January-November: statistics

Skopje, 9 January 2024 (MIA) - Total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in period January-November 2023 amounted to EUR 7.66 billion, a 0.2% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was EUR 10.18 billion, or 8.3% less than the same period last year, said the State Statistical Office on Tuesday.

Trade deficit in period January- November was EUR 2.52 billion, while import coverage by export was 75.2%.

The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, parts of the seats of subgroup 821.1 and other supported catalysts. In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form and motor vehicles for the transport of persons, n.e.s..

The most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, China and Serbia.
