Tetovo, 18 October 2022 (MIA) – Former Prime Minister and SDSM leader Zoran Zaev does not intend to return to politics when asked by reporters during a panel-discussion in Tetovo on Tuesday. “I have no intention to return to politics because of the Zaev Foundation and my corporate social activities. I love my people, I love my country. I do not intend to run for president. I was in politics for 20 years, I will support this and any future government because of my legacy and the big decisions I took. I want my people and my country to succeed. Let me be clear – I will not come back,” said Zaev. Asked if life is easier in politics or business, he said freedom suits him best. “I came from the business world and it was a bit strange to have a leader of a social-democratic party from the corporate sector, but I believe this brought a new value, since practitioners see things in one way and theoreticians in another. This created a mix that produces a more realistic option for the country’s development. I am fine being in business but I rejoice freedom more. I fought for freedom and democratic values in a difficult time, and I believe that I demonstrated them best by taking responsibility and resigning when I should have. I hope we will all mature regarding our rights but also responsibilities,” noted Zaev.
