Skopje, 19 April 2024 (MIA) - The DUI-led “European Front” coalition presented Friday in Skopje an election manifesto titled “Europe 2030” ahead of the May 8 general elections. The manifesto is founded on three pillars – the first is “One Prime Minister for All”, the second relates to foreign policy “No to Russia, Yes to Europe”, and the third pillar is titled “Agreement on Economic Consensus”, representatives of the coalition said.

The manifesto was presented by Finance Minister and head of the coalition’s central election HQ, Fatmir Besimi.

Besimi said the idea behind the first pillar, “One Prime Minister for All”, is a continuation of the things achieved thus far and previously presented as “First Albanian Prime Minister in Macedonia”. 

“Both then and now, the intention is to have a prime minister who is equal for everyone, provides equal opportunities for all and builds a country that will be ready for membership in the European Union. The idea behind the slogan ‘One Prime Minister for All’ is to provide a system that will create opportunities for good governance; equality; consensuality over important decisions for the country; a consensual president of the country elected in Parliament with a two-third majority and a Badinter majority; cohesion; rule of law and justice; vetting of all public office holders in legislative, executive and judicial branch; fight against corruption and organized crime; professional administration and digitization of public services; safety and order,” Besimi said.

Besimi said the second pillar of the manifesto is founded on the strategic orientation as a NATO member, and EU membership. He noted the coalition is committed to integration within the European Union in 2030, constitutional amendments in 2024 and opening EU negotiations in 2024, as well as saying “no” to Russian influence.

According to Besimi, the third pillar consists of five sub-pillars – competitive economy and digital transformation; sustainable development and green transformation; modern infrastructure and equal regional development; human capital and high living quality; active youth and equal society.
