Europe House opens in Bitola

Bitola, 6 May 2023 (MIA) - EU Ambassador David Geer and Bitola Mayor Toni Konjanovski opened Europe House Bitola in the city's House of the Army on Saturday.

Ambassador Geeer said the opening of Europe House Bitola launched the events dedicated to Europe Day.

"Bitola has joined the Europe House family in the country and the House of the Army is the most recognizable symbol of the city's vast cultural heritage. I expect that all planned activities of Europe House are implemented in cooperation with the Mayor, building on the over 1,700 events and 72,000 participants thus far. Europe House Bitola is the place where young people can discuss issues in their interest but also other topics related to the country's European future," said Geer and also announced the opening of Europe House Veles.

Mayor Konjanovski said the Europe House opening represented support to the realization of European projects initiated by the local self-government.

"The European future of our city can be built only by creating better conditions and new opportunities, in which the creative potential of the youth will continue to develop and focus on new ideas and projects that are important for Bitola. I expect Europe House to be the home of many discussions and ideas that guarantee progress for young generations," said Konjanovski.

Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi and Minister of Culture Bisera Kostadinovska Stojchevska also attended the event.

The Europe House programme also includes a photo-exhibit and an exhibition of designs, accompanied by a DJ set, followed by a concert.
