EUR 1 million worth of new equipment commissioned at Clinic for Digestive Surgery

Skopje, 16 August 2024 (MIA) - New medical equipment worth EUR 1 million secured from the Ministry of Health was commissioned Friday at the University Clinic for Digestive Surgery.

Health Minister Arben Taravari said the Ministry will continue improving conditions for the treatment of patients.

“According to the information I received from the director [of the Clinic], thanks to the medical equipment laparoscopic interventions with the use of fluorescence imaging will be carried out at the Clinic for Digestive Surgery for the first time in the country, significantly improving visualization and minimizing potential complications during surgical interventions,” Taravari said.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said many “similar, nice things for Macedonian healthcare” will follow in the period to come.

“We began our term with a visit to the Clinical Hospital in Shtip, where we said the project for the completion of the Clinical Hospital in Shtip and the hospital in Kichevo continues, and if this proves successful then we expect to replicate that with one large clinical center that has been promised for a long time but is yet to happen,” Mickoski said.
