EU-flagged bills related to Corridors 8 and 10d sent to Parliament

Skopje, 8 May 2023 (MIA) - The five EU-flagged bills proposed by the Government and related to the construction of Corridors 8 and 10d have been sent to the Parliament. According to the Parliament's website, the five bills are put on the agenda of the 115th plenary session scheduled for Wednesday at 11 am.

These include draft amendments to the law on labor relations, the law on expropriation, the law on urban planning, the law on construction and the law on determining public interest and nominating a strategic partner for implementation of the project on construction of infrastructure Corridor 8 (section: Tetovo – Gostivar – Bukojchani and the project on the highway Trebenishta – Struga – Kjafasan) and Corridor 10d (section of the highway Prilep – Bitola) in the Republic of North Macedonia.

As can be seen from the Parliament's website, in the explanations of all the proposed amendments to the laws, section five, i.e. item 5 entitled "Review of regulations from other legal systems and alignment of the proposed law with the law of the European Union", is empty.

If they pass the first filter at the plenary session on Wednesday regarding a need to use a fast-track procedure, they will most likely immediately go on the agenda of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs.

Coordinator of DUI parliamentary group and President of the Parliamentary Committee on European Affairs, Arber Ademi, told a press conference on Monday that he will stick to the Rules of Procedure and hopes that the opposition will not obstruct the procedure.

According to SDSM MP, Mile Taleski, the bills that enter a parliamentary procedure improve the efficiency in the construction of the road, railway and energy infrastructure in the country.
