EU Ambassador Geer and CMC head Angelov visit pilots battling blazes

Skopje, 3 August 2024 (MIA) - The Ambassador of the European Union David Geer participated Saturday in the regular morning briefing of the domestic and foreign aviation crews engaged in the efforts to combat the wildfires in the country, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) said in a press release.
“The crews of the helicopters and planes deployed through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism introduced EU Ambassador Geer and CMC head Stojanche Angelov with the performances and results. Geer and Angelov also had a chance to examine the aircraft before they began their activities planned for today,” CMC said in a press release.
Angelov thanked Ambassador Geer for the support provided through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, as well as for his personal presence and support for the joint efforts of domestic and international forces engaged in combatting the wildfires.
