Skopje, 5 May 2023 (MIA) – The United States Deputy Assistant Secretary and Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, U.S. Ambassador Angela Aggeler and other U.S. diplomats extended greetings in a video message Friday over May 5 - Macedonian Language Day.
“Happy Macedonian Language Day! Did you know that some U.S. diplomats learn the Macedonian language before coming to Skopje? On this occasion, we asked our colleagues and U.S. Peace Corps volunteers to share some Macedonian proverbs. Here is what they chose,” wrote the U.S. Embassy in a Facebook post.
In the video, apart from extending their greetings, the U.S. diplomats share popular proverbs in Macedonian from the Macedonian historical, national and cultural tradition.
