Skopje, 31 October 2023 (MIA) – The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) is set to publish the new heating price for Skopje at a press conference Tuesday. The new price will be valid from November 1.

In an interview during the weekend, Commission President Marko Bislimoski said the price of heating in Skopje will not increase by more than five percent as of November 1.

"Considering the high inflation, the price rise of operating materials for all companies, along with alignment of the minimum wage, I believe the increase will not exceed five percent. This means that the increase for an average apartment in Skopje would amount to Mden 50-60 (EUR 1)," said Bislimoski.

The price was initially supposed to be set in August of this year, but was postponed due to the damaged heat pipes under the Belasica bridge in Skopje.

There are around 60.000 users of heating energy in the country's capital.
