Energy Minister Bozhinovska meets UNDP Resident Representative Grigoryan

Skopje, 1 November 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Energy, Mining and Minerals Sanja Bozhinovska met Friday with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the country, Armen Grigoryan.

Talks focused on the reform agenda, energy efficiency, and renewable energy sources. Bozhinovska, according to the ministry's press release, highlighted the ministry's plans, status of ongoing projects, and opportunities for improving future plans and activities with the aim of strengthening cooperation with UNDP. 

"The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Minerals is committed to green energy transition and reducing carbon emissions. Opportunities for energy efficiency and technological development are possible through significant investments into renewable energy sources and complete gasification of the country,” stated Bozhinovska.

Grigoryan said that UNDP will continue to support the country, and that the ministry can continue to count on its continued and concrete cooperation.

"Our support includes development of human and institutional capacities, providing knowledge, demonstrating solutions, and building partnerships. We are prepared, if needed, to provide experts that will assist in several areas and projects, such as energy efficiency, eco-passports, and renewable energy sources for the successful realization of the ministry's outlined projects," Grigoryan stressed.

Bozhinovska expressed gratitude for UNDP's cooperation and importance of this partnership for encouraging the successful realization of Macedonian national priorities and green transition plans. ssh/sk/
