Electricity providers for industry to be known next week: Deputy PM
Skopje, 24 September 2022 (MIA) – Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi said Saturday the providers of electricity for the industry would be known next week. “There are positive signals and we will have concrete information next week on what we can offer to the industry,” Deputy PM Bytyqi told reporters. Everything below the stock market price, he added, can be treated as cheap. “Prices go up to EUR 1,000 per MWh and if we get an offer of EUR 300, this is considered cheap. I know the industry is sometimes not prepared to pay this price because of its capacity but these are times of survival. We are in daily communication with companies on the free market and we will have a clear picture of what we can offer next week,” said Bytyqi. According to him, entities on the regulated market should not fear because there are sufficient raw materials for electricity production. “This means that citizens and 70,000 companies on the regulated market should be calm regarding electricity supply by March 2023,” said Bytyqi. The Deputy PM noted that negotiations with Bulgaria, Serbia and Turkey are ongoing and things will become clear next week.
