Skopje, 20 February 2024 (MIA) - Caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi said Tuesday that DUI leader Ali Ahmeti would not accept the presidential nomination.

"As far as I know, Ahmeti has a mission, not ambition for office. I think he will not accept the presidential nomination. There is no need for him to show who he is after contributing over the past 50 years for this country and its citizens. His mission is Europe, EU and he is working on this," PM Xhaferi told reporters.

According to him, it is not the DUI leader's priority to hold an office.

"If he wanted to be in office, he could have held any post over the past 23 years," said Xhaferi.
