Skopje, 28 February 2024 (MIA) - The Parliament elected Abdush Demiri member of the State Election Commission (SEC) with 90 'yes' votes, none against or abstained on Wednesday.

Demiri was nominated by the opposition parties of ethnic Albanians dubbed "European Alliance for Change". The second candidate for the post, Zulfi Adili, withdrew earlier in the month after the Government appointed him director of the Agency for Foreign Investments.

Demiri fills the vacant SEC spot after Krenar Lloga was elected Minister of Justice last year.
