Skopje, 23 February 2024 (MIA) - The period for collection of signatures for presidential candidates begins on Friday and will last until March 8, as per the State Election Commission (SEC) schedule.

A presidential candidate requires at least 10,000 signatures from citizens who are part of the Voter Register or signatures from 30 MPs.

The collection of signatures will take place in all SEC departments and offices across 34 municipalities, and before notaries public. The offices will operate every day in two shifts, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. On the final day, March 8, the offices will be open until midnight.

The first round of the presidential elections is slated for April 24, with a possible runoff to take place alongside the parliamentary elections on May 8.
