Skopje, 18 July 2025 (MIA) - Artificial intelligence (AI) will be introduced into secondary education and applied to various topics across all subjects and extracurricular activities. It will be helpful for students to think creatively, for teachers in planning lessons and tests, as well as for automating various administrative processes in schools, Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska said on Friday.
In its efforts to introduce AI in secondary schools, the Ministry of Education and Science will be aided by private educational organization Brainster. The two formalized their cooperation by signing a memorandum on Friday.
“The greatest benefit of AI for students will be that it will make them think and provide what our children lack judging from the PISA testing,” Janevska said.

The Minister stressed the importance of ensuring students are protected when using AI and that they verify the information they receive, gain knowledge and skills, and learn about the ethical application of artificial intelligence in everyday life.
“We are working intensively on this, and a lot of work lies ahead of us. At the Faculty of Informatics in Shtip we are already drafting a document with guidelines for teachers and students for the introduction of AI in September, which will serve as an introduction to the inclusion of specific topics in the curricula for each grade. The primary focus of the memorandum we are signing today is assistance in the introduction of AI in secondary schools, however Brainster will also assist in integrating entrepreneurship as a field and topic in the secondary education curriculum,” Janevska added.
The founder of Brainster, Petar Ninovski, highlighted the importance of young people learning about AI in secondary education.
“We believe that together we can create an educational system that will not only follow global trends, but also actively participate in their defining. We are happy that the state has recognized our potential, and we are especially grateful to Minister Janevska for the leadership and vision she has demonstrated. Young people deserve quality education so they can create a better future for Macedonia. It is an honor to be a part of this process for the transformation of society,” Ninovski said.
