Skopje, 14 March 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri and French Ambassador to North Macedonia, Cyrille Baumgartner, signed Tuesday an annex to the Agreement between the two governments concerning francophone bilingual classes in secondary schools. The event was held as part of the observance of Francophonie Month, in the attendance of representatives from several secondary schools.

At the meeting it was stated that the annex aims to specify the essential provisions from the Agreement between the Government of North Macedonia and the Government of France concerning secondary schools that have francophone bilingual classes.

There are a total of six francophone bilingual classes in the country, the first one was opened in a secondary school in Negotino in 1997/98. ad/nn/
