Education Minister Shaqiri meets UK Ambassador Galloway
Skopje, 2 February 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Education and Science Jeton Shaqiri met Wednesday with the UK Ambassador Rachel Galloway and discussed current state in education system with a focus on future priorities and expected British support to the Ministry of Education and Science.
“They agreed that the most important thing now is the in-person classes to resume as it is the option that has the greatest effectiveness in terms of students' knowledge. Shaqiri said that together with other competent institutions will monitor the situation and will make utmost efforts this type of learning to take place by the end of the school year,” Education Ministry said in a press release.
Shaqiri said that the most important goals are to continue the process of digitalization of education, investments in new curricula and textbooks, support for teachers, as well as investments in infrastructure. Ambassador Galloway reaffirmed that the United Kingdom remains a partner and strong supporter of North Macedonia in the efforts to improve the education system, as education affects overall progress of the country, the press release reads.
