Education minister Janevska meets with Turkish Ambassador Ulusoy

Skopje, 18 July 2024 (MIA) — Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska met Thursday with Turkish Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy and discussed bilateral cooperation in the areas of science, technology and innovation, a protocol for which should be signed by the end of the year.


According to a Ministry of Education and Science press release, the protocol is expected to further strengthen the good bilateral ties, providing new opportunities for members of faculty and scholars in both countries.

 


At the meeting, Minister Janevska informed Ambassador Ulusoy about the current efforts to improve public education. She noted that over 8,000 students were taught in the Turkish language in Macedonian schools and that the state was making sure the Turkish community, as well as everyone else in the country, was getting education of equally high quality, according to the release.


Janevska also presented the new agenda of the institution, which she started implementing since her appointment.


"Congratulating the minister on her appointment to the position, Ambassador Ulusoy expressed readiness for cooperation and new initiatives in all educational segments," the release adds. mr/
