ECHR rejects request of ‘Vodno Lots’ defendant Kamchev

ECHR rejects request of ‘Vodno Lots’ defendant Kamchev
Skopje, 30 November 2021 (MIA) – The Strasbourg-based European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has rejected the request of Orce Kamchev’s team of attorneys for North Macedonia to grant him house arrest and examination by a cardiologist due to his deteriorating health. This means that the court has refused to force the country to grant Kamchev house arrest so that he can be examined by a cardiologist. Government agent from the Bureau for Representation of the Republic of North Macedonia before the European Court of Human Rights, Danica Dzhonova, has confirmed the news to MIA. Kamchev’s attorneys have on several occasions reiterated that they have notes from domestic and foreign cardiologists that he is at high risk of cardiovascular mortality. The team submitted the request to the European Court of Human Rights based on this evidence. Kamchev has been in detention for several months, as a defendant in the “Vodno Lots” case.
